In 2021 Skymedical decided to endorse the Girl Move Academy, providing a Mozambican student the chance to attend a course at a Portuguese institution.
This corporate social responsibility project started in mid-October through online sessions and, in November, Ivándra José will have the opportunity to come to our offices for an Exchange Lab program – an international internship experience promoted by the Girl Move Academy — so she can have a better perspective of the market.
Ivándra José is a Mozambican Girl Mover, trained in Imaging and Public Health, and has a very noble life mission: “Leading the self to lead the others”. By defending this legacy, Ivándra believes that investment in education/training can help improve the quality of life in communities through literacy and health communication, so that society has higher access to information and decision-making power in Health and in other sectors in general.
Girl Move Academy is a leadership and social entrepreneurship organization that emerged with the goal to promote education and sensitize the Mozambican population not to drop out of school. With this mission, the association created a cascading mentoring project that currently has 31 mentors, who, through actions, lectures, events and individual sessions, manage to provide support in different contexts to various citizens and encourage the continuity of studies.
Partnering with various organizations and empowering a new generation of change-makers allows the Girl Move Academy to grant its Girl Movers the continuity and completion of training, thus contributing, in the long term, to breaking the cycle of poverty and improving the Mozambican women’s and girls’ human rights.
