Rafaela Duarte, Skymedical’s Head of Medical Education & Communication, will be one of the judges of the 1st edition of the Journalism Award in the area of medical devices, launched by the Portuguese Association of Medical Devices Companies (APORMED).
This award aims to recognize journalistic works that address the role of medical devices, their relevance and advantages of their use for health.
The award will be given to the best work produced by a journalist holding a professional license and published in the press, radio, television or internet in the year 2022; and the best work produced, in portuguese, by a student or a team of journalism or communication undergraduate students that has been published in a media outlet legally registered in Portugal, a media outlet or website of a higher education institution or that is a journalistic academic work.
Entries are accepted in two categories: “Journalist” and “Student”. The deadline for submissions is December 31. The prize will be awarded to a single candidate work, with the winner receiving a check for €1,000.
Besides to the Skymedical employee, the jury will be composed by Filipe Granjo Paias, president of APORMED; João Gonçalves, executive director of APORMED; Carlos Morais, Director of the Cardiology Service at the Hospital Professor Doutor Fernando Fonseca; Mafalda Fateixa, Specialist in Digital Communication at the B. Braun group; Nicole Matias, Communications Manager at Fresenius Medical Care; and Andreia Garcia, PhD in communication sciences and university professor.
